Tiroler Edle works with two small, exclusive couverture manufacturers. These are characterized not only by absolute premium quality, but also by sustainable and fair dealings with their partners. The price they pay the farmers for their cocoa beans is above the “Fairtrade” level.

Austrian chocolatier Martin Mayer only uses special, rare varieties of cocoa, which he buys directly from selected cooperatives. For the Tyrolean fine product lines purissima, purissima without added sugar and Zeig dich!, he produces an exceptional premium couverture in his small, fine manufactory in the Mühlviertel (Upper Austria), in which our fine Tyrolean grey cow’s milk is fused with the highest quality cocoa . www.mayerschokoladen.at

Another ideal partner was found in Felchlin, a traditional company from Switzerland. The cocoa beans, which are processed together with Tyrolean gray cow’s milk for the filled Tiroler Edle chocolates, come from small farmers in Ghana. The farmers there are trained and accompanied by Yayra Glover, a Ghanaian who studied and lived in Switzerland for 20 years. During a visit to Ghana in January 2017, the Tiroler Edle team was able to gain a personal insight into the life and work of Yayra Glover and the cocoa farmers. www.felchlin.com
